About the Exhibition
Plain Sight is proud to present its 2021 exhibition season with intermediary installations by the anonymous artist known as Absurdly Well. In lieu of brown paper being taped to the windows in between exhibitions, Absurdly Well will keep the space activated by showcasing his own stenciled posters. Works feature text and portraiture referencing politics and social climate pertinent to life in DC. Continue to check back here for updated details and documentation.

Viewers can anticipate a new series of works beginning March 8, 2021.

About the Artist
Absurdly Well combines portraiture and text to create powerful messages through a running urban poster series. Using hand-cut stencils to screen print onto kraft paper, he utilizes Washington, DC government property, legally, to explore social narratives describing the 20th century urban Black condition. Additional recurring themes include mental health, police brutality, mythology, politics, and woman empowerment, all in attempt to create community awareness & protest.
